17th Annual Open Studio Weekend – Success!
Over 7,000 attendees flock to Hartford to Meet the Artists
Hartford, CT- The November 2006 Open Studio Weekend in Hartford was the biggest event of its kind so far. An estimated 500 attendees kicked off the weekend at the ArtSpace gallery located at 555 Asylum Ave in Hartford. Over 6,900 attendees visited 100 artists throughout the city on Saturday and Sunday November 4th and 5th.
The reception was held on Thursday November 2 from 6-8 pm. It featured modern dance performances, spoken word, and live jazz. The art show themed, “It’s About Time” was a collection that showed the wide range of mediums and skills of the Open Studio Weekend artists.
The reception was provided by Tapas on Ann and Hot Tomato’s Restaurant Group. Beverages were donated by Hosmer Mountain Soda, and floral arrangements were donated by The Root System.
“The reception and the weekend event was a huge success,” said Chi LaBossiere, Open Studio Weekend Event Coordinator and president of Chi Consulting. “Artists met the public and helped to inspire creativity in our lives. There were live music performances, poets, sculptures, jewelers, potters, fine artists and so much more, all coming together in celebration of the arts. Thank you to all the artists and thank you to all the attendees. We hope you had a wonderful time.”
