For Breast Cancer Research
Do your part by visiting Pink for Power’s booths
People’s Bank & Cuts Unlimited In Colchester!
Colchester, CT – Since 2003, Sarah Van Dyke-Ewan has helped her organization, Pink for Power, to raise over ten thousand dollars for breast cancer research. The funds are raised through merchandise selling online and at events. This month visit Pink for Power booths at the People’s Bank in Colchester, and at Cuts Unlimited LLC at 203 Lebanon Ave. Booth displays promote breast cancer awareness and provide fundraising opportunities.
“I started Pink for Power in honor of my grandmother and all those women that suffer from breast cancer,” said Sarah Van Dyke-Ewan. “Thank you to all of you that have purchased my merchandise. You have helped to spread awareness and funded life altering research.”
Pink for Power began with flower pot booths at Colchester events such as the Tag Sale on the Green and Pumpkins and Pooches. In 2004 the Pink for Power Shop opened online at www.pinkforpower.com. Merchandise includes gift baskets, hats, purses, watches, stationary, shirts, and of course, pink ribbons! The web site has allowed customers to order from all over the country. Customers are breast cancer survivors looking for inspiration, friends and family members that want to support their loved ones, and teams of runners or walkers seeking to spread awareness of breast cancer.
“All proceeds from Pink for Power are donated directly to the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative,” stated Sarah Van Dyke-Ewan. “The best selling items are pins, ornaments, and pink ribbon stress balls. Items range from a dollar to forty dollars. Every little bit helps in the fight against breast cancer.”
Pink for Power is a 100% volunteer effort. Businesses contribute funds that go towards purchasing merchandise, and donate services to help run the organization. The web site is designed and maintained by Sunset Graphics. Sarah Van Dyke-Ewan is also the president of Sunset Graphics and has over eleven years of experience serving national clients and their design needs.
“We all know someone that has suffered from breast cancer,” said Sarah Van Dyke-Ewan. “Some have survived and some have not. Pink for Power raises funds to help the fight against breast cancer. Join me and help your friends, family members, and maybe even yourself.”
